Nature Photography Naturally an online portfolio of fine art nature photography by James H Egbert. It is here you will find inspirational imagery of nature as seen in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West.
The camera and a lens are like the canvas and brushes of a painter, or the clay of a potter. They plead for you to go out and discover something with them. A nature photographer becomes part of the splendid concerto of nature, composing various subjects, textures, colors, shapes, forms, and light into a complete composition. An intimate relationship is established when the artist is alone with wildlife, in the calm silence of wilderness or witnessing a breath-taking exhibit of light on a landscape that may only last but a few fleeting moments. It is said that it is only during these moments when a photographer is truly at place where they can only begin to articulate their passion.
James H Egbert's photographs are recognizable for their vibrant colors, artistic composition, and inspired perspective. James' photographic mission is multi-faceted. By employing his artistic style combined with more technical style, he accurately documents his subjects and educates the viewer.
For James, it is all about a fine balance of multiple elements to create emotionally moving images while keeping them recognizable. His unique and passionate approach to nature photography is based on his years of training in photojournalism and in the arts and his love and respect for the mountains near his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
James has been a photojournalist for the United States Navy and Army both on active duty and as a military contractor. From the early 80's to the current Global War on Terrorism he has recorded scenes that tell stories unimagined. Currently James is a Television Photojournalist for CBS Affiliate, KKTV News 11 in Colorado Springs, serving his local community of Colorado Springs and Southern Colorado.
Nature photography is a more personal passion for James and he hopes to one day make it his soul profession.
